Markwin's Cattery
Feline Boarding includes:
- a roomy living area with a window view
- a scratch post
- litter pan with litter
- toys
- clean bedding and dishes.
We also provide boarding for small caged animals. Ask one of our friendly staff for details.
Work, shop, dine, golf and feel guilt free leaving your dog with us. They can have fun all day and sleep happy and relaxed at home in the evening. Daycare is a wonderful alternative to leaving your dog at home for long hours.
If you have to be away from your dog for long hours during the day, our fun daycare program will benefit both you and your dog. Dogs go home happy and exhausted after having a day full of fun with their new found friends. They also have space to race and play with other dogs, places to splash, swim and paddle, paths to explore, and squirrels to hunt!
So why not let your dog exercise, socialize and enjoy some outdoor pleasures rather than suffer from loneliness and anxiety.
Your dog’s adventure can begin as early as 8 a.m. (Monday – Saturday only) when he will be greeted by our fun loving staff.
Remember to bring food if you want your dog fed during the day.
We offer Basic training
Dog training classes are conducted by Mark Winsor, who has years of experience dealing with all levels of obedience. To ensure that the dogs are socialized and receive the proper amount of attention, our classes are kept between four to six dogs. We believe that every dog is an individual, and therefore should be given individual attention. Results are guaranteed provided that your dog is healthy and you, the pet owner, is dedicated to training your dog. Homework between classes is essential.
Markwin Positive Reinforcement Training techniques will help solve your training problems.

We offer five options for obedience training:
Group Classes
We take no more than six per class which is 9 sessions. The first class is an introductory class to see if it's what you are looking for. On the ninth class we have graduation.
One-on-One
We offer this option to accommodate those who feel more comfortable working with the trainer on a personal level; are unable to attend regularly scheduled classes; or, prefer to train in their own home.
In-Kennel Training
We offer this option to our boarding customers. When you return from your vacation, you will be greeted by a happy, well-trained canine companion. A minimum of two weeks boarding is required to ensure optimum results.
Behavioural Modification
Does your dog exhibit unpleasant behaviour that causes you to be concerned? Don't worry, there is an answer to all problems. Markwin's certified animal behaviourist will evaluate your dog and together you can both make the necessary corrections.
Puppy Instruction and Socializing
Is there a new member in your family? Do you have any unanswered questions? If so, we can help smooth out what seems to be a rough road. Our expert trainer can offer advice and a safe place for socializing your pet.

Global Shipping & Transportation Services
At Markwin Pet Resort, we offer pet shipping within the St. John’s and Mount Pearl area or to and from cities around the world.
If you are relocating to another city, or even another country, and need to leave your pet behind, we will care for them at our kennel and send them to you later when you are settled. We have successfully shipped pets to many destinations around the world. Your pet will be taken care of until you are ready to have them sent to you.
Our Pet Shipping services include:
- making flight arrangements.
- completing documentation requirements.
- arranging custom clearance.
- providing transportation to the airport.
- providing suitable airline crates if needed (at an extra cost).
If you need to send your pet outside the country, we will prepare documentation for:
- import permits.
- health certificates.
- vaccination certificates.
- obtain legalization from the Department of Agriculture on your behalf.
We have the experience and expertise to successfully import or export your pet.
